Request training and record external learning

Raise a learning need or submit evidence of training completed outside Talento. This article is for anyone requesting learning.

Contents

Before you start

For a learning need, explain the outcome you want to achieve. For external training, prepare the provider, date, hours, and any required certificates or evidence.

Request and support a learning need

  1. Open My learning → Requests → Learning needs.
  2. Select Request training.
  3. Enter a clear title.
  4. Explain the need and expected outcome.
  5. Save the request.

The request initially appears to your office or, if you do not belong to an office, only to you. People in its audience can comment and support it. You can edit your own request only while it remains open and is not linked to a course or plan.

Submit training completed outside Talento

  1. Open My learning → Requests → Submissions.
  2. Find External learning and select Submit external training.
  3. Enter the title, provider, completion date, and hours.
  4. Add notes.
  5. Attach certificates or other evidence.
  6. Submit the request.

You can attach PDF, DOC, ODT, XLS, XLSX, PNG, JPEG, or WebP files, up to 20 MB each. You can edit or withdraw the submission only while it is pending.

When approved, Talento associates it with a course, creates a completion, and may award skills. A rejection retains the explanation but creates no history.

Outcome

The need will remain open for follow-up, or the external training will appear as pending review with its evidence.

Common issues

  • The catalogue has no results: create a need from the prepared search.
  • You cannot edit a need: it may be linked or no longer open.
  • You cannot change external training: only pending submissions can be changed.
  • The file cannot be attached: check its format and the 20 MB limit.
