Before you begin
Talento separates reusable rules from individual assignments:
- A schedule category contains the shared rules for a type of working day.
- A category can contain one or more dated schedules for different periods.
- Each schedule defines working-time ranges for the days of the week.
- An assignment applies a schedule category or shift to an employee for a date range.
- A rotating shift moves through several schedule categories over a cycle of weeks.
This structure lets a company apply the same plan to many people without entering working hours separately for each employee.
Assign a schedule to an employee
- Open the Management calendar or the employee record.
- Select Assign schedule.
- Enter the start date and, when appropriate, an end date.
- Choose an available schedule category or shift.
- Save, then check the result in Calendar.
An assignment without an end date remains active until it is replaced or edited. Review existing future assignments and avoid overlapping or ambiguous periods.
Managers can only plan schedules for people within their management scope and schedule permissions.
Warning
Changing an assignment can affect time tracking, booking availability, and hour calculations. Check the effective dates before saving.
Result
You can confirm the result in the team view or in the status described in the steps above.
Common problems
If an option does not appear, it may depend on your permissions, enabled modules, or company configuration. Ask an administrator to review your access; you do not need to repeat the task or choose an unsuitable alternative.
