Before you start
A lead is a possible commercial relationship that still needs validation. Record the company or person, acquisition source and campaign, assign an owner, schedule follow-up, and decide whether the lead should become a customer, contact, or opportunity.
Statuses are New, Contacted, Qualified, Discarded, and Converted. Use them for real decisions rather than as a measure of how long a lead has been waiting.
Information
The Leads feature is part of the CRM. You can only view or change leads available to you, and editing depends on your CRM permission.
Convert a lead
- Open the lead and select Convert.
- Review detected matches.
- Select an existing customer or allow Talento to create one from the lead details.
- Select an existing contact or create one when the lead has a name or email.
- Link an open opportunity or request a new one.
- For a new opportunity, enter its name, expected amount, and frequency.
- Confirm the conversion.
The lead becomes Converted and links to the resulting records. Talento adds source context to the customer, contact, and opportunity it creates or associates.
Tip
Conversion does not mean a sale is won. It means the prospect now has a stable place in Customers, Contacts, or the Opportunities pipeline.
Monitor owners and sources
Use Leads and the CRM dashboard to check:
- unassigned new leads;
- old records without a decision;
- qualification and conversion rates;
- sources or campaigns that produce real opportunities;
- recurring discard reasons;
- workload by owner.
Compare volume with quality. A high-volume source may contribute less value than a smaller one with stronger conversion.
Result
Lead links and CRM views show the converted records, ownership, and source performance within your scope.
Troubleshooting
If an option is missing, it may depend on your permissions, active modules, or company configuration. Ask an administrator to review your access rather than repeating the task or choosing an unsuitable alternative.
