Configure lead capture

Standardise sources and fields so lead analysis remains consistent. This article is for people who configure or administer this feature.

Contents

Before you start

A lead is a possible commercial relationship that still needs validation. Record the company or person, acquisition source and campaign, assign an owner, schedule follow-up, and decide whether the lead should become a customer, contact, or opportunity.

Statuses are New, Contacted, Qualified, Discarded, and Converted. Use them for real decisions rather than as a measure of how long a lead has been waiting.

Information

The Leads feature is part of the CRM. You can only view or change leads available to you, and editing depends on your CRM permission.

Configure sources and fields

Open Lead sources to maintain a shared list, such as referral, website, event, or campaign. Avoid multiple names for the same acquisition route.

Use CRM custom fields when you need extra data for qualification or segmentation. Define only fields the team can complete consistently.

Use CRM automations when capturing or qualifying a lead should automatically create follow-up or apply another change.

Result

The lead form and filters show the configured sources and fields.

Troubleshooting

If an option is missing, check the active module, specific permission, and record scope. If the configuration is correct and the problem continues, keep the displayed message and contact support.
