Use my calendar

Review your events, move between months, and open the information available for each day. This article is for people completing this task.

Contents

Before you start

The Calendar brings together events that affect your working day. Depending on the features your company uses, it may show absences, schedules, on-call duties, bookings, and other work-related activities.

What appears depends on your permissions and the selected filter. You can see your own calendar, while a manager may also be able to view the teams or offices within their management scope.

Information

The Calendar displays information created elsewhere in Talento. To correct an event, you will normally need to open its detail or return to the feature where it was created.

Open Calendar. The initial view opens the current month with your own calendar selected.

Each event appears on the relevant day. Its colour and name help identify the type or category. Some events cover a whole day, while others show a start or end time.

Select an event to open its details when you have access. An event shown only as calendar information is useful for planning, but you do not have access to change it.

Move between months and return to today

Use the arrows beside the month name to move backwards or forwards. Select Today to return directly to the current month.

Your filters remain selected as you change months. If an event seems to be missing, check both the month and the active filter before investigating further.

Understand a day's events

  • A tick indicates approval when that event type uses an approval process.
  • An event can appear on several days when it covers a date range.
  • Timed activity may appear on its start date, end date, or both, depending on the event type.
  • A booking may link to its booking calendar when you have access.

Tip

In a busy month, start with your own calendar. Then switch to the particular team, office, or resource you need to compare.

Create a booking from the calendar

If you can book company resources, Calendar shows Add new booking. Select it to open the new booking form, choose a resource, and enter the period.

Public booking calendars with their own availability are managed under Booking calendars. That feature is covered in a separate guide.

If an event is missing

  1. Check that you are viewing the correct month.
  2. Return to your personal calendar filter.
  3. Check whether the event is still pending, has been cancelled, or belongs to another person.
  4. Open the source feature, such as Absences, and confirm that the record exists.
  5. If another person can see it but you cannot, ask an administrator to review your permission or visibility.

Result

You can verify the result in your personal area or through the status described above.

Common problems

If an option is missing, it may depend on your permissions, the active modules, or company configuration. Ask an administrator to review access; you do not need to repeat the task or choose an unsuitable alternative.
