For sales teams

Plan and complete activities

Organise calls, meetings, and follow-up tasks related to commercial contacts. This article is for people who perform this task.

Contents

Before you begin

The Sales activities area turns each follow-up into concrete work: a call, meeting, email, demonstration, proposal, or another task. Each activity retains its related contact or other CRM record, dates, status, category, and notes so the next step does not depend on one person's memory.

Information

Activities require CRM access. What you can create or view depends on your permissions and the commercial records available to you.

Create an activity

  1. Open Sales activities.
  2. Select New activity.
  3. Use a title that describes the action, such as Call to review the proposal.
  4. Select the related contact and an activity category.
  5. Add dates, status, reminder, and notes.
  6. Save the activity.

You can also start an activity from a customer's Activities tab when it has contacts. Talento preselects the relevant contact.

Some automations and integrations can create activities directly against a lead or opportunity. Those activities appear in their histories and contribute to the opportunity's next action.

Schedule dates and reminders

Use the start date for when follow-up should begin and the end date for its duration. The end date cannot be earlier than the start date.

A reminder is an additional attention date. It does not replace an agreed appointment: for a meeting at a fixed time, enter start and end as well.

You can add hours and cost when you need to measure the associated commercial effort.

Update the status

Available statuses are:

  • Pending, not yet started;
  • Started, currently in progress;
  • Completed, work finished;
  • Postponed, delayed until later.

Open the activity, select Edit, and change its status. Completing an activity records its completion date. When it belongs to an opportunity, Talento also recalculates that opportunity's next pending action.

Warning

Do not mark an activity complete merely to remove it from the list. If follow-up remains, create the next activity or use the status that reflects the actual work.

Record context and comments

Use the description for purpose, preparation, and expected outcome. Add comments and files to the activity afterwards to retain decisions or evidence.

Avoid copying entire conversations or unnecessary personal data. Keep only the context required to continue the commercial relationship.

Result

You can confirm the result in your personal area or in the status described in the steps above.

Common problems

If an option is missing, it may depend on your permissions, active modules, or company configuration. Ask an administrator to review your access; you do not need to repeat the task or choose an unrelated alternative.
