For administrators

Configure company structure

Maintain the companies, offices, teams, and resources used by other features. This article is for people who configure or administer this feature.

Contents

Before you start

The Talento Settings area contains the configuration that shapes the rest of the application. This is where you maintain company structure, employee options, and the rules for active modules.

A change often affects more than one screen. An office, for example, can be used in employee records, permissions, schedules, and reports; a category can determine the choices shown when your team creates a record.

Information

Settings only shows options available for the company's active modules and your access level. Different companies or employees may therefore see different options.

Configure companies, offices, and teams

Set up the structure before adding many employees:

  1. Review the required legal or organisational Companies.
  2. Create the Offices where the team works.
  3. Organise employees into Teams.
  4. Add shared Resources where the relevant module uses them.
  5. Assign these values in Employees.

Use recognisable names and avoid slight duplicates. Before deleting or deactivating a value, check which employees, permissions, reports, or records use it.

General account data—such as name, fiscal information, address, language, time zone, and logo—is maintained from the Account action in Settings. Review the impact because these changes can affect company-wide documents and communication.

Prepare shared categories and rules

Many features need configuration before use. Examples include:

See Approval rules to design conditions and approvers, and Custom fields to choose data types and options without duplicating standard information.

Create only choices the team will understand and use. Add a description where two categories may appear similar, and deactivate values that should no longer be selected for new records.

Warning

Changing a calculation, approval, or classification rule can alter future behaviour. Review existing records and communicate the change first.

Result

You can verify the result on the settings page, in the relevant list, or through the status described in the steps above.

Common issues

If an option is unavailable, check the active module, the specific permission, and the record scope. If the settings are correct and the issue continues, keep the displayed message and contact support.
