For configuration owners

Change modules and rules safely

Prepare categories, rules, and access without disrupting the team's work. This article is for people who configure or administer this feature.

Contents

Before you start

The Talento Settings area contains the configuration that shapes the rest of the application. This is where you maintain company structure, employee options, and the rules for active modules.

A change often affects more than one screen. An office, for example, can be used in employee records, permissions, schedules, and reports; a category can determine the choices shown when your team creates a record.

Information

Settings only shows options available for the company's active modules and your access level. Different companies or employees may therefore see different options.

Review permissions and custom fields

Use Permission groups to decide which features each group can use and which employees it can act on. See Permissions and visibilities before granting broad access.

Custom fields let you add company-specific information to supported areas. Before creating one:

  1. Confirm that a standard field does not already hold the data.
  2. Choose a name and type that are easy to understand.
  3. Decide who should complete it and how it will be used.
  4. Avoid collecting personal data that is not necessary.

Account, subscription, and modules explains why a feature may depend on the plan or an active module. API access and integrations covers creating, rotating, and revoking tokens for external systems.

Plan a configuration change

For a change that affects the team:

  1. Identify the screens, employees, and reports that use the setting.
  2. Record the current behaviour and expected result.
  3. Test with a limited case first where possible.
  4. Review permissions and existing values.
  5. Communicate when the new configuration takes effect.
  6. Verify a complete workflow afterwards, not only the settings form.

Assign an owner to each configuration area so the team knows who can make and explain decisions, and contradictory changes are less likely.

Important

Do not change fiscal data, approval rules, general permissions, or calculation criteria without confirming who is responsible for that decision in your company.

Troubleshoot a missing option

If you cannot see a card, button, or configured value:

  1. Check that you are in the correct company.
  2. Confirm that the relevant module is active.
  3. Review both your Settings permission and the specific feature permission.
  4. Check that the value is active and belongs to the correct company.
  5. Reload the page after saving the setting.

If another employee can see the option, compare their permission groups and access scope. Do not grant full administration to solve a narrow need.

Result

You can verify the result on the settings page, in the relevant list, or through the status described in the steps above.

Common issues

If an option is unavailable, check the active module, the specific permission, and the record scope. If the settings are correct and the issue continues, keep the displayed message and contact support.
