Before you start
Talento uses permission groups to decide who can enter a feature, which actions they can perform, and which employees they can manage. A group might represent team managers, HR, Finance, or Recruitment.
Configuration has three steps:
- What the group can do: a permission level for each feature.
- Who it can act on: the employee scope that the group can view or manage.
- Who receives access: employees, teams, offices, companies, or roles assigned to the group, including the dates when access applies.
Information
A manager role and a permission group are related but different. The role describes a person's general position; the group defines the access Talento actually applies.
Assign the group to people
In the third step of the group:
- Create an access assignment.
- Set a start date and, for temporary access, an end date.
- Select recipients directly or through company, office, team, or role.
- Save and review who was included.
An assignment without an end date remains active while its criteria match. Use dates for temporary cover, time-limited projects, or responsibilities with a known duration.
You can also review the groups an employee receives under Permissions in their record in Employees.
Review and remove access
Review access periodically and whenever someone changes job, team, or office:
- Open the group in Permission groups.
- Review permission levels, scope, and assignments.
- Check temporary access that should have ended.
- Adjust or remove assignments that no longer apply.
- Validate the result with a test employee who represents the real case.
Talento does not allow you to delete a group while it remains assigned. Remove its assignments first and confirm that no process depends on it.
Important
Changing a team-, office-, or role-based assignment can affect many people at once. Review the recipient list before and after the change.
Troubleshoot access problems
If someone cannot complete a task:
- Confirm that the company has the module active.
- Check that the employee receives the correct group on the current date.
- Review the feature's permission level.
- Check the scope over the affected employee.
- Review the record's own visibility where applicable.
- Ask the employee to reload the page and try again.
For excessive access, carry out the same checks starting with the assignment and scope. Do not add another group “to test” before understanding the existing combination, because permissions can accumulate.
Result
You can verify the result on the settings page, in the relevant list, or through the status described in the steps above.
Common issues
If an option is unavailable, check the active module, the specific permission, and the record scope. If the settings are correct and the issue continues, keep the displayed message and contact support.
