Before you begin
An opportunity represents a potential sale to a customer, with an expected value and a route through pipeline stages. You can add product or service lines, assign an owner, record activities, and retain a change history until the deal is won or lost.
Information
Opportunities requires the CRM module and permission. Creating an invoice from a won opportunity also requires Invoicing and permission to create invoices.
Create an opportunity
- Open Opportunities.
- Select New opportunity.
- Enter a name and choose the customer.
- Assign an owner and initial stage.
- Add the expected amount, frequency, expected close date, and probability.
- Add product or service lines with quantity, price, and tax when preparing for invoicing.
- Complete the description and custom fields.
- Save the opportunity.
Probability can come from the stage. A manually entered probability is retained when the opportunity moves; otherwise, the new stage supplies it.
Work in board or list view
Opportunities initially shows open deals for the current quarter. Switch between:
- Board, for stage columns and drag-and-drop work;
- List, for comparing and ordering more records.
Filter by period, status, stage, customer, owner, closing reason, or amount. The summary uses the same filters and shows the number and expected value of the results, including overdue or stalled deals.
Move an opportunity to another stage
On the board, drag the card to the correct column. From the opportunity page, you can also select a new stage and add a note.
Talento records the old and new stages, date, and person who made the change. It also updates the last activity and time spent in the stage.
Warning
Moving a card changes the real pipeline and can trigger automations. Do not use a different stage merely to hide a stalled deal; record the actual progress.
Review the next action
The opportunity shows its next pending linked activity. These activities can come from automations or integrations configured for the sales process.
Completing, deleting, or rescheduling a linked activity causes Talento to recalculate the reference. Keep one clear next action with a date and owner. If it is missing, follow the company's sales process or ask an administrator to review CRM automations.
See Sales activities for activity management and the CRM dashboard for deals without activity coverage.
Result
You can confirm the result in your personal area or in the status described in the steps above.
Common problems
If an option does not appear, it may depend on your permissions, enabled modules, or company configuration. Ask an administrator to review your access; you do not need to repeat the task or choose an unsuitable alternative.
