For managers

Close and analyse opportunities

Record outcomes, review risks, and turn a won sale into an invoice when appropriate. This article is for managers working within their team or management scope.

Contents

Before you begin

An opportunity represents a potential sale to a customer, with an expected value and a route through pipeline stages. You can add product or service lines, assign an owner, record activities, and retain a change history until the deal is won or lost.

Information

Opportunities requires the CRM module and permission. Creating an invoice from a won opportunity also requires Invoicing and permission to create invoices.

Mark an opportunity won or lost

Select Close from the opportunity and choose the outcome:

  • for Won, enter a reason, close date, actual amount, and frequency;
  • for Lost, enter a reason and close date.

The close date cannot be in the future. Closing retains the stage where the decision occurred and adds the outcome to history.

Tip

Expected amount supports forecasting; actual amount supports measurement. Use the same frequency for both so comparisons remain meaningful.

Reopen an opportunity

Reopen a closed deal when commercial work genuinely resumes. A note explaining why is required.

Reopening sets the status to Open, clears the actual amount, and restores the stage probability. Then review the expected close date, owner, and next activity.

Create an invoice from an opportunity

For a won opportunity, select Create invoice. Talento prepares a draft for its customer and copies the opportunity lines in their current order.

Before converting, confirm:

  • the opportunity is marked as won;
  • the customer has the required fiscal data;
  • every line has a tax;
  • names, quantities, and prices are correct.

After creation, Talento opens the invoice draft for review. The opportunity remains won and its history records that the invoice was created.

Warning

Marking a deal won does not create an invoice automatically. Conversion is a separate action and the draft still requires review before it is issued.

See Invoicing to complete, send, and collect the invoice.

Result

You can confirm the result in the team view or in the status described in the steps above.

Common problems

If an option does not appear, it may depend on your permissions, enabled modules, or company configuration. Ask an administrator to review your access; you do not need to repeat the task or choose an unsuitable alternative.
