For managers

Support an employee's onboarding

Review upcoming steps, coordinate responsible people, and update action statuses. This article is for managers working with their team or management scope.

Contents

Before you start

Onboarding brings together the steps that need to happen before and after an employee joins the company. A workflow defines the actions, their timing relative to the contract start date, the responsible people, and any notifications or documents. When a process is created, Talento calculates the actual dates from the contract start date.

New employees can follow their own action list. Managers and administrators see onboarding processes within their scope and can validate the steps assigned to them.

Review an employee's onboarding

  1. Open Employee onboarding.
  2. Find the employee by their start date or current step.
  3. Open the process to review the full action list.
  4. Check overdue and upcoming actions first.

You only see employees within your onboarding management scope. The Current step column highlights the next pending action, helping you identify a stalled process without opening every record.

Approve or discard an action

Open an action from the employee's process. If you are responsible for it or have administrative access, you can update its status.

Before approving an action:

  1. read the instructions;
  2. review its comments and files;
  3. check the signature when a document is included;
  4. confirm that the expected result has been delivered;
  5. select the appropriate status.

Use Discarded when the step does not apply to this employee, not simply because it is late. Add a comment when an exception needs to be understood later.

Coordinate the responsible people

An action can be assigned to the employee's line manager, a higher-level manager, a team or office manager, or a named employee. If Talento cannot assign an action, check the new employee's organisational relationships and the workflow configuration.

Talento can send a notification on the scheduled date and mark that delivery as completed. Check afterwards whether the action still requires approval before the step can be closed.

Result

You can check the result in the team view or in the status described in the steps above.

Common problems

If an option is missing, it may depend on your permissions, active modules, or company settings. Ask an administrator to review your access; you do not need to repeat the task or choose an option that does not fit.
