Before you begin
The Ideas area provides a shared place to suggest improvements and turn them into proposals that can be reviewed and followed. Each idea has a status, can belong to a category, and can receive support and comments from people who are allowed to see it.
Visibility and available actions follow Talento permissions. A newly submitted idea starts with the scope configured by your company and enters its review process.
Review the moderation queue
- Open the Moderation queue.
- Review new ideas and proposals under consideration.
- Open each idea and read its description, support, and comments.
- Check whether an equivalent proposal already exists.
- Choose the next status and add a note when context will help.
The queue contains accessible ideas in the early stages of the process. Normal moderation keeps anonymous authors hidden.
Information
Read permission for Ideas does not include moderation. The moderation queue requires management permission and the appropriate scope.
Update an idea's status
Typical statuses distinguish new, under-review, planned, in-progress, completed, rejected, and duplicate proposals. Your company can adapt the names and rules.
To move an idea forward:
- Open it directly or from the moderation queue.
- Select the new status.
- Add an explanatory note when needed.
- Confirm the change.
Talento records who made the transition and may send a notification. Use final statuses only after a clear decision so the open list continues to represent real pending work.
Maintain categories and statuses
Administrators organise proposals through Idea categories and Idea statuses.
Categories group ideas by area or subject. Statuses describe the decision process and can include a colour, position, final-state setting, and target timing that highlights delayed proposals.
Agree a straightforward process with moderators before changing this structure. Too many similar categories or statuses make it difficult for proposers to understand what happens next.
Use the ideas dashboard
Open the Ideas dashboard to analyse a period. It shows incoming proposals, movement through statuses, active categories, and stages where ideas are delayed.
Use these patterns to improve the review process, not to score individual creativity. A growing queue or overdue status usually signals a need for clearer ownership or decision criteria.
Tip
Explain final decisions. Even when a proposal will not continue, a clear reason helps people trust the ideas process and contribute again.
Result
You can confirm the result in the team view or in the status described in the steps above.
Common problems
If an option does not appear, it may depend on your permissions, enabled modules, or company configuration. Ask an administrator to review your access; you do not need to repeat the task or choose an unsuitable alternative.
