Propose and follow ideas

Submit proposals, support other people's ideas, and follow their progress. This article is for people who perform this task.

Contents

Before you begin

The Ideas area provides a shared place to suggest improvements and turn them into proposals that can be reviewed and followed. Each idea has a status, can belong to a category, and can receive support and comments from people who are allowed to see it.

Visibility and available actions follow Talento permissions. A newly submitted idea starts with the scope configured by your company and enters its review process.

Create an idea

  1. Open Ideas.
  2. Select Create new idea.
  3. Enter a title that summarises the proposal and save.
  4. On the edit page, add a complete description.
  5. Choose a category when a relevant one exists.
  6. Keep the idea active so it can appear in the list.
  7. Save the changes.

Explain the problem, the improvement you propose, who would benefit, and the result you hope to achieve. You do not need a complete solution, but other people need enough context to assess the suggestion.

Tip

Name the proposed change rather than only its subject. “Reduce the steps needed to request annual leave” is more informative than “Absences.”

Submit an idea anonymously

When your company permits anonymous proposals, Anonymous idea is available during creation. Enable it before saving the new idea.

Other users see the author as anonymous, while you can still recognise and follow your own proposal. The anonymity choice cannot be changed later from the edit page.

Warning

Do not include details in the title or description that reveal your identity if you want the proposal to remain anonymous.

Find and follow proposals

On Ideas, switch between:

  • Open: proposals whose process is not finished.
  • Completed: ideas that reached an implementation or delivery state.
  • My ideas: proposals you created.

You can also filter by category. Each card shows the current status, category, visible author, owner when assigned, and totals for support and comments.

Open a proposal to read its full description, join the discussion, and check progress. When a manager changes the status, Talento records the transition and may notify related people.

Support and comment on an idea

Inside the idea:

  1. Use the support control when you believe the proposal is useful.
  2. Add a comment with a relevant example, improvement, or question.
  3. Mention another person only when their contribution is needed.

Support indicates interest but does not automatically decide what will be implemented. Review also needs to consider impact, feasibility, and company priorities.

Keep comments focused on the proposal. When suggesting an alternative, explain how it addresses the original problem.

Edit or withdraw an idea

When Edit is available, you can correct the title, description, or category and decide whether the proposal remains active. Anonymity stays as it was at creation.

A delete action may also be available according to your permission. Before removing an idea that already has discussion or support, consider closing it with a final status and explanation instead.

Result

You can confirm the result in your personal area or in the status described in the steps above.

Common problems

If an option does not appear, it may depend on your permissions, enabled modules, or company configuration. Ask an administrator to review your access; you do not need to repeat the task or choose an unsuitable alternative.
