Before you start
The Goals area turns an objective into measurable results. Every goal has an owner, dates, a status, and one or more metrics. Progress updates create a history and feed the evolution chart.
You can also share a goal with other people, coordinate actions, and request updates on a schedule. This keeps follow-up from depending on a single conversation or an unexplained number.
Information
You only see goals that you own or that have been shared with you. Creating, editing, or configuring a goal requires the relevant permission; viewing and updating also depend on the access configured by the company.
Create a goal
- Open Goals.
- Select Create a new goal/OKR.
- Enter a name focused on the intended outcome.
- Save to create the goal.
- Open Edit to add its description, dates, and initial status.
- Open Metrics and add at least one with a name and target value.
A new goal belongs to its creator. Configure visibility afterwards to share it with the people who need to contribute or follow it.
Define metrics
Open Metrics while editing the goal. Add one row for each result you need to measure, including:
- an unambiguous name;
- the target value representing 100%;
- a unit that is clear from the name, such as customers, euros, or deliveries.
A goal must have at least one metric before it can be updated. Do not mix different units in one metric or change what it means partway through the period without documenting the decision.
Configure visibility and update requests
Open Visibility and select the people, teams, offices, or other groups that may view the goal. Check the audience before sharing sensitive information.
Under Request updates, choose a frequency and the delivery day or time. While the goal is active, Talento sends recurring requests to visible participants and calculates the next request date.
Use update requests only when regular input is expected. If the goal is reviewed in a monthly meeting, align the request with that rhythm.
Close a goal
At the end of the period:
- make sure every metric has its final update;
- add a closing explanation with the result and lessons learned;
- change the status to Achieved, Not Achieved, or Discarded;
- complete or close remaining actions;
- retain the goal as historical context.
Do not mark a goal achieved simply because one metric reached 100%. Review every metric and the intended outcome before closing it.
Outcome
You can verify the result in the team view or in the state described in the steps above.
Common problems
If an option does not appear, it may depend on your permissions, active modules, or company configuration. Ask an administrator to review your access; you do not need to repeat the task or choose an option that does not apply.
