Before you start
Talento turns information that is often scattered across spreadsheets, documents, and isolated decisions into a connected system. You can define how work is organised, assign a contract to each employee, prepare effective-dated salary structures, and retain every compensation revision in their history.
The aim is not merely to store a salary. By connecting job positions, contracts, and salary tables, you can:
- apply consistent criteria to people doing comparable work;
- prepare future reviews without changing current remuneration;
- check who a new table will affect before applying it;
- explain where each amount came from and when it took effect;
- reduce errors involving legal entities, currencies, working time, seniority, or classification;
- provide better data for cost reports, job valuation, and pay equality.
Information
This guide is for administrators, HR teams, and managers with authorised access. Employees do not manage their contracts or salaries through this workflow. What each manager can review or change depends on their permission and employee scope.
Managers with salary access can review only the employees within their scope. General contract and job-position configuration requires Settings access; publishing or applying a table requires the corresponding level of salary permission.
Review an employee's contract and compensation
Open Employees, select an employee within your authorised scope, and open Contract. The list distinguishes the active contract from historical contracts and shows details including:
- job position;
- contract category and working-time type;
- start date and, where applicable, end date and reason;
- current annual gross salary and its effective date;
- revision history and salary concepts.
Expand Compensation and salary concepts to review the source of each revision. A revision may be initial, manual, or created from a salary table. When it comes from a table, it also retains the version and salary lines that were applied.
Warning
Salary is particularly sensitive information. Do not copy amounts into comments, channels, or exports that do not have the same level of protection as Talento.
Interpret salary history
Revisions are ordered by effective date. The latest revision that has already taken effect determines the current annual gross salary; a future revision remains recorded without replacing the current amount yet.
The history is immutable. If a decision changes, record another revision with the correct date and reason instead of trying to edit an earlier revision. This makes it possible to reconstruct the compensation that applied at any point in time.
The salary concepts shown below the contract help break down operational compensation. Do not confuse their visible total with the annual gross salary history: a revision created from a table retains its own annualised lines and inclusion rules.
Review team job positions and reports
Managers can use the Contract reports available to their role. The equality dashboard and job valuation provide aggregate information or data limited to their scope; the salary register and pay-gap report are restricted to administrators.
Use these views to identify incomplete data or cases requiring analysis, not to change contracts in bulk without review. See Pay equality for the filters, limitations, and safeguards that apply to these reports.
Result
You can check the result in the team view or in the status described in the steps above.
Common problems
If an option is missing, it may depend on your permissions, active modules, or company settings. Ask an administrator to review your access; you do not need to repeat the task or choose an option that does not fit.
