Activate and review modules

Decide which capabilities the company needs and understand how they work with permissions. This article is for managers working with their team or management area.

Contents

Before you start

The Account area brings together three company-wide decisions: how the company is identified and configured, the status and capacity of its subscription, and which modules are available.

These changes affect the whole account. An incorrect language or time zone can alter dates and communications; a deactivated module is no longer available to the team; and reaching the employee limit affects new starters.

Information

Only administrators can access this area. Open Settings and select Account to view the company record.

Activate a module

From the module detail, select Activate. This enables the capability in the subscription and may add new menus, settings, and processes for the company.

After activation:

  1. open Settings and find its configuration;
  2. prepare catalogues, rules, or initial data;
  3. review permission groups;
  4. test the complete workflow with a person in the appropriate scope;
  5. tell the team where to find it and how it should be used.

Deactivate a module

From the detail, select Deactivate and confirm the action. The module becomes inactive and its usual entry points are no longer available.

Before confirming, identify in-progress work, process owners, automations, and data that the team still needs to consult. Deactivation controls access to the module. Do not use it to correct an individual's permissions or assume it deletes existing history.

Important

Deactivating a module can interrupt work across several areas. Agree a date, review dependencies, and retain any authorised exports the company needs before making the change.

Understand the difference between a module and a permission

Modules and permissions answer different questions:

  • the subscription determines whether a capability is available to the company;
  • permissions determine what each group can do and for which employees;
  • scope limits which records a manager can view or manage.

Activating a module does not automatically grant access to the whole team. Review Permissions and visibilities before opening a feature that handles sensitive information.

Troubleshoot a missing feature

If a card, menu, or action is missing:

  1. confirm that the subscription is active or in a state that allows use;
  2. check that the relevant module is shown as active;
  3. review the person's permissions and scope;
  4. verify that the feature's initial setup is complete;
  5. reload the navigation after saving a change.

If another person can see the feature, compare their permissions and scope. If nobody can see it, start with the subscription and module. Do not broaden administrative permissions until you know which layer is blocking access.

Outcome

You can verify the result in the team view or in the state described in the steps above.

Common problems

If an option does not appear, it may depend on your permissions, active modules, or company configuration. Ask an administrator to review your access; you do not need to repeat the task or choose an option that does not apply.
