Before you begin
Discounts define rules that can be applied to transactions. Payment methods classify payments recorded afterwards. They are separate catalogues and should have names the team can understand.
Create a discount rule
Open Discounts and define:
- name;
- context: invoice, item category, item, customer, or customer category;
- fixed amount or percentage;
- validity period, when it must be limited by dates;
- whether it can be combined with other discounts;
- condition: always, amount, or quantity, including its operator and value.
A percentage discount cannot exceed 100%. If you enable a validity period, both start and end dates are required. A quantity condition is not available when the discount applies to the entire invoice.
Test the rule with a sample invoice. Check both when it applies and the combined result when it can be accumulated with other discounts.
Warning
Deleting or changing a rule can alter future discounts. Keep the commercial rationale and effective dates somewhere more durable than the name so you can audit why it applied.
Create payment methods
Open Payment methods and create the methods the team uses to record payments, such as bank transfer, card, or cash.
Use payment methods to classify how money was received, not to represent bank accounts or invoice statuses. Deleting one deactivates it for new use; existing payments retain their reference.
Result
You can confirm the result on the settings page, in the list, or in the status described in the steps above.
Common problems
If an option does not appear, check the enabled module, the specific permission, and the record scope. If the configuration is correct and the problem continues, keep the message shown and contact support.
