Find people in the employee directory

Search for someone and view the professional information available to you. This article is for anyone completing this task.

Contents

Before you start

The employee directory brings together the professional contact information of people in your company. Use it to find someone by name, team, or office and to reach them through their work contact details.

The directory only includes active employees you are allowed to see. Personal details, such as a private email address or home phone number, are not shown in the directory.

Information

What you can see depends on your permissions and on the information your company has added. If the directory or a particular person is missing, contact an administrator.

Open the employee directory

  1. Open Employee directory from the Talento menu.
  2. Browse the employee cards or use the search field.
  3. Select a work email address or phone number when you need to contact someone.

People you have pinned appear first under Pinned employees. Everyone else appears below them.

Find a person

Enter at least three characters in the search field. You can search by:

  • first name or surname;
  • work email address;
  • team name;
  • office name.

The list updates with matching employees. If your search is too short, Talento keeps the general directory in view until you have entered enough information.

Tip

If several people have similar names, add a surname, team, or office to narrow the results.

Understand an employee card

Each card can show:

  • the person's name and job position;
  • their work email address;
  • team and office;
  • work phone numbers;
  • who they report to;
  • a current or upcoming absence when you are allowed to see it.

A card may contain fewer details when the employee record is incomplete. The directory is not a substitute for the administrative employee record and does not expose private information.

Pin people you contact often

  1. Find the person in the directory.
  2. Select the pin control on their card.
  3. Their card moves to Pinned employees at the top of the page.

Select the control again to unpin them. Pinning only affects your own directory; it does not change anyone's visibility or another user's pinned list.

Outcome

You can verify the result in your personal area or in the state described in the steps above.

Common problems

  1. Make sure you entered at least three characters.
  2. Try a surname, team, or office instead of the full name.
  3. Confirm that the person is still active in the company.
  4. If other people can see the person but you cannot, ask an administrator to review your directory permissions.
